SANTA CHIARA WATER PARK
The Santa Chiara Water Park Project in Rende, which has cost € 18 million, entailed the creation of a navigable artificial lake, an outdoor swimming pool, as well as structures suitable for sports and recreational activities. In particular, a spa has been created with an adjoining swimming pool and a multipurpose playground (football, basketball, tennis and volleyball). Furthermore, the Park contains a restaurant, a technotown, an auditorium, a children’s playground, a mini-golf course, a skating rink, several green areas, an open-air theater and a hangout with a cafe, acting as the main entrance of the entire structure. Together with the recreational activities that can be exercised during the day, the project aims to make the outdoor (in summer) and indoor spaces (in winter) an evening meeting place, with live music and events that, from time to time, will entertain the Park guests in the evening and at night, especially during the weekends. The outdoor swimming pool replicates a portion of the beach and the lightness that can only be felt in the vicinity of the shoreline and a beach with full services. The artificial lake is navigable and is designed for activities of various kinds, such as model boat competitions. This space allows the visitors to approach the first notions of navigation by creating a real nautical school. Among the other recreational areas, a beach volleyball court, a soccer / tennis court, a mini club with games and inclusive equipment for all children and a mini golf have been created, as well as a restaurant and a bar between the lake and the swimming pool.
